Home Run Derby

Calling all kids ages 6-12!!!! Go vote early, then come out, have fun, and swing for the fences November 3, 2020!!! This is an event you don't want to miss. Registration starts at 6 p.m. The Home Run Derby will begin promptly @6:30 p.m. You do not have to play ball at Northern to participate. All bats must be Little League approved.

Each participant is thrown pitches by an adult of his/her choice. The hitter has the option of not swinging at a pitch. If he/she swings at a pitch and misses or hits the pitch anywhere but in home run territory, it is considered an out. Home run territory will be anywhere over the fence between the foul lines. Cost is $1 per ball 10 ball maximum. The participant with the most home runs shall be declared the winner. The distance to center field fence will be adjusted by division:

C-ball - Participant will hit from second base to the center field fence. If no home runs are hit, farthest hit ball will be declared the winner.
B-ball - Participant will hit from a temporary home plate located in front of the pitcher's mound. If no home runs are hit, farthest hit ball will be declared the winner.
A-ball - Participant will hit from the permanent home plate. A-ball will be split in to 3 age groups. If no home runs are hit, farthest hit ball will be declared the winner.

Winners: Each winner of each division will receive a medal and prizes. Tiebreakers - if there is a tie in any division, all tied batters will compete in a one swing "swing-off" until only one batter remains.

We will have vendors on site to include: Staff members from Stars and Strikes, Icey Girl, Batter Cookie Dough Counter, Drive By Tacos, The Emerald's Touch BBQ, Performance RX, Premier Chiropractic, Saylor Rose Boutique and more. We will also have prizes to give away.
